The goal of "The Art of Dance" is to provide an outlet to young choreographers and dancers.
Many young adults spend their whole childhood surrounded by recreational dance.  As we set off to colleges and jobs we forget what it feels like to move our bodies while making an impact. This club will allow young students to relax and have fun away

  • The purpose of the “The Art of Dance” at Penn State Harrisburg is to provide an outlet of artistic expression to young choreographers and dancers at Penn State Harrisburg. The intention of this club is to teach and provide structured classes and choreography by members. There will be no competitive events and the sole purpose of this club is to be recreational. Our goal is to create a judgement free place for any choreographer’s piece or class to be expressed. There will be art appreciation and cultural history through movement and dance. The Art of Dance at Penn State Harrisburg will allow choreographers and aspiring dancers to grow artistically, network, develop skills, workout, and perform over the east coast.

  •  Once on our feet we will reach out to local communities to participate in master classes from our members.

  • This is a structured club with structured lessons from members on routines, stretching, and various styles of dance.

  • ALL LESSONS ARE ASSUMED TO BE ORIGINAL CHOREOGRAPHY OR FROM A PREVIOUS CLASS. THIS CLUB DOES NOT LEARN FROM ONLINE CHOREOGRPHERS.

  • Funding will be used for trips to Broadway Dance Center, Millennium Dance Complex, Capezio, Wind Up Tour, Tokyo Productions, Monarch Dance Company, and other master classes/conventions. Other usage of funding will be primarily traveling expenses.

THE INTENTION OF THIS CLUB IS TO TEACH AND PROVIDE AN OUTLET OF EXPRESSION. NO JUDGEMENT OF ANOTHER'S PIECES WILL BE MADE.
